Major Projects. Hamilton is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. We are embracing this growth and the opportunities it brings. As a Council we are investing $2B over the next 10 years in the city's biggest ever capital programme. This investment means we are planning well for the changes coming our way and means we can look after Youth Engagement Strategy: With the input from youth voices, youth-serving agencies and partners, the City of Hamilton is creating a comprehensive youth engagement strategy. Starting with asking ourselves, “How do we best engage youth?” this strategy will focus on the successes and challenges youth in Hamilton face, identify partners, existing opportunities and potential partnerships that support youth 14 to 29 and provide opportunities to enhance services with better city support. Hamilton is home to world-class universities, colleges, and research-intensive companies that have created an ideal environment for new product development and innovation. Industry and academia work together in Hamilton to lower the cost of commercialization and bringing products to market. The Future Development Strategy (FDS) is a document produced by SmartGrowth (a partnership of councils, tangata whenua, community groups and some government departments) to drive the discussion and decision-making needed to manage this expected growth. Future Development Strategy Consultation now closed - thanks for the feedback. The submission period has now closed and The SmartGrowth Leadership Group will be considering all feedback received at its December meeting.
