That's the good news - it looks like you have might have copper rather than nickel silver (EPNS- which has a layer of copper between the nickel and the silver.) It's a nicer quality of plated flatware. Silver plating wouldn't be very functional and useful if it easily dissolved away in dishwater or milk & honey.
